Hello tirzepatide!
It works very similarly to semaglutide with a few differences. Some studies believe it is slightly more effective than semaglutide. We are glad to have more options in this arena. As anyone who comes in to Biohackr Health knows, every person is different. What we need, how we respond to medications, and what our labs look like all vary. Tirzepatide is another tool in our burgeoning weight loss tool box.
Similarities Between Tirzepatide and Semaglutide
- GLP 1 receptor agonist. It lowers glucagon secretion and increases insulin production.
- It targets areas in the brain that regulate appetite and food intake.
- It is a variation of a natural molecule our bodies make, but this synthetic form lasts for weeks — not minutes like our natural molecules last.
- It delays how quickly the stomach digests food. This leads to feeling fuller longer, and satisfaction with smaller meal sizes.
- Dual action allows for lower blood sugars and reduces sugar production in the liver.
- Stimulates pancreas to release insulin.
IT DIFFERS IN THAT TIRZEPATIDE HAS AN ADDITIONAL GIP peptide, which is an insulinotropic polypeptide receptor agonist. This is a receptor made by the small intestine in response to eating food. Its main action is to encourage the release of insulin into the bloodstream to control blood sugar levels.
Our formulation comes with Vitamin B12, essential and often lost with many medications which address insulin resistance.
